A Rougher Guide To Ibiza

Ibiza is the most western island of the Balearic Islands, and human habitation dates from at least 5000 BC. If all you know of Ibiza is the trashy TV show that play on Satellite TV then you’re in for a bit of a pleasant surprise when you come and visit. Ibiza is hilly and has sandy Calas and rocks and the most beautiful beaches and sandy shores of the Mediterranean.

Renting a car is the best way to enjoy the island. The best beaches are only available by car [and boat obviously] I would be careful about renting a moped. Loads of people get killed and injured riding. Ibiza drivers are not the best and many people drive on drinks and pills.

Ibiza is the perfect if you love the warm summer sun. The island is famous for its hot summers and perfect beach weather and the sunshine is certainly plentiful during this time. In the winter the weather is colder but there’s still plenty of sun. The island tends to be deserted once the clubs shut.

San An is very popular but it’s not to every ones taste. If you love lobster red English fat English families trudging around the town or slobbing on the beach then this is for you. You’re bound to find a bloke called Dave. Families prefer Santa Eularia or Playa Dem Bossa and many hip and single people prefer Ibiza town.

Ibiza has proved a popular destination throughout the years for everyone from the Jet Set to the Hippies. What ever kind of holiday you want Ibiza has something for you. One of the best months to visit is September when the sea is still warm but the sun is cooler and most of the tourists have left.

Gran Canaria – An Experience Waiting to Happen

Taking a vacation to Gran Canaria is one of the best things that you can ever do. Most tourists have had some wonderful experiences here and it comes highly recommended. This article will give you plenty of reasons why you should pay a visit to this world class destination. The weather here is probably the best you will find anywhere in the world and it has been confirmed by studies that have been done in the USA. Las Palmas city, the capital of Gran Canaria, is said to have the best climate in the world. The weather is mostly subtropical and the temperatures range between 24 degrees to 30 degrees in summer and lower about two degrees during winter time.

Gran Canaria has great weather, and this makes it possible to play almost any sport. When visiting the island you can enjoy tennis, golf, football, surfing, fishing, diving or you can even go as far as throwing you in the air above the sea level with a speed – and it is called parasailing. Gran Canaria has no match when it comes to the nature, the landscapes or site seeing opportunities. There are mountains with fantastic views, deserts, gardens, volcanoes, forests and beaches. All of these can be found in one place, just waiting to make an impression on you with their stunning combinations.

Regardless from whether you travel alone or with your family, there are big selections of everything. The island caters for tourists from all walks of life. There are beaches to cater for the families and also a wide variety of sports. There are also many restaurants with Spanish, Chinese and European cooking. You will definitively not be bored while visiting here as there is so many attractions and adventures to engage in. No matter if it is on the ocean or inland, it will be an amazing experience. You can either ride a helicopter or go on a submarine. Music shows or visits to museums are also an option. Some of the activities that you might enjoy while holidaying here are hiking, surfing, biking or going on a hot air balloon. If you want to hike, the north of the island at Arucas is probably the best place.

The cliffs are full of caves, and would certainly make an appealing day hike. Le caldera de Bandama should be one more interesting day hike and it should take you under an hour to climb to the peak of the volcano. But if hiking and biking is not your strong point, you could in its place try renting bicycles or mopeds. You would not be able to take the exciting hikes that will really get you out into the countryside, but it will be a better way to explore than taking a car or bus.

There are plenty of places that you can rent the bicycles or mopeds from and there are also many excellent cycling opportunities. Going on holiday to this incredible destination will never leave you bored.

Iceland Holidays

Iceland is located in the North Atlantic Ocean. The main island is entirely south of the Arctic Circle, which passes 74852 Iceland Holidaysthrough the small Icelandic island of Grímsey off the main island’s northern coast. The country lies between latitudes 63° and 67° N, and longitudes 25° and 13° W.

Though Iceland is nearer to Greenland (North America) than Europe, the island is generally included in Europe for historical, political, cultural, and practical reasons. Geologically the island is part of both continental plates. The closest bodies of land are Greenland (287 km (178 mi)) and the Faroe Islands (420 km (261 mi)). The closest European country is the UK (Scotland) 900 km (559 mi) away (not including the Faroe Islands (Denmark) or the Orkney Islands (Scotland)). Norway is about 970 km (603 mi) away.

Iceland is the world’s 18th largest island, and Europe’s second largest island following Great Britain. The main island is 101,826 km2 (39,315 sq mi), but the entire country is 103,000 km2 (39,768.5 sq mi) in size, of which 62.7% is tundra. There are thirty minor islands in Iceland, including the lightly populated island of Grímsey and the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. Lakes and glaciers cover 14.3%; only 23% is vegetated. The largest lakes are Þórisvatn (Reservoir): 83–88 km2 (32.0–34.0 sq mi) and Þingvallavatn: 82 km2 (31.7 sq mi); other important lakes include Lagarfljót and Mývatn. Jökulsárlón is the deepest lake, at 248 m (814 ft).

Geologically, Iceland is a part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the ridge along which the oceanic crust spreads and forms new oceanic crust. In addition, this part of the mid-ocean ridge is located atop a mantle plume causing Iceland to be subaerial (above the surface of the sea). Iceland marks the boundary between both the Eurasian Plate and the North American Plate since it has been created by rifting, and accretion through volcanism, along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge — where the two plates meet.

Many fjords punctuate its 4,970-km-long coastline, which is also where most settlements are situated. The island’s interior, the Highlands of Iceland, is a cold and uninhabitable combination of sand and mountains. The major towns are the capital of Reykjavík, along with its outlying towns of Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær, Reykjanesbær, where the international airport is located, and Akureyri, in northern Iceland. The island of Grímsey on the Arctic Circle contains the northernmost habitation of Iceland. Iceland has three national parks: Vatnajökull National Park, Snæfellsjökull National Park, and Þingvellir National Park.
